Compassion-Focused Coaching

Leading with Compassion

What makes a good leader?

Research consistently shows that employees want to work for compassionate leaders. Compassion positively impacts engagement, trust, job satisfaction, and retention. Compassionate leadership fosters well-being and enhances productivity, creating a win-win for both employees and organizations.

Through compassion-focused coaching, Sara helps leaders recognize how their emotions, language, and body language shape their leadership effectiveness. Leaders become more self-aware, improve how they navigate challenges, and foster more authentic communication. This holistic approach enables leaders to create meaningful shifts in their mindset and behaviors, resulting in more impactful leadership.

Sara also brings her extensive background in self-compassion to coaching, and partners with clients to help them tend to their own struggles.

About Sara

Sara Schairer is an ICF leadership coach-in-training with 12+ years of experience facilitating compassion and self-compassion programs for people of all walks of life.

After leading compassion and self-compassion trainings for tens of thousands of people for over a decade, Sara noticed that the compassion needle hadn't budged. She realized that in order to truly impact others, our systems needed to be compassionate. This realization led her to write the book, "A Case for Compassion: What Happens When We Prioritize People and the Planet."

While researching and conducting interviews for the book, it became clear to Sara that in order to create systems that prioritize compassion, we need leaders who prioritize compassion. That's why Sara became a leadership coach.

Are you a leader who wants to prioritize compassion?

Benefits of Compassion-Focused Coaching

With compassion-focused coaching, leaders gain the wisdom to move through even the most difficult leadership challenges in a more skillful way. Some of those challenges may include:

  • Difficult conversations
  • Direct, tough feedback
  • Termination
  • Managing challenging personalities
  • Performance improvement plans
  • Making difficult decisions
  • Taking action on and communicating unpopular agendas

You'll find that compassion doesn't make you "soft." Instead, compassion gives you the capacity to be fully present during challenging moments. And self-compassion gives you the support you need to continue showing up as the leader you want to be.

Sara offers her full presence, empathy, curiosity, and humor to make her clients feel supported and heard. She enjoys working with leaders at all levels.
